Description
The SH&E Specialist role serves as liaison between SH&E functional staff and Operations / Maintenance personnel. It establishes a partnership with field leadership and work staff to address SH&E related issues and implement OIMS improvement opportunities. The position provides training and other guidance to field staff on SH&E programs to increase awareness and understanding, and performs independent attestation (verification) of OIMS program compliance and effectiveness.
- Provide guidance to support the Leadership Team in achieving "Nobody Gets Hurt"; champion the application of OIMS programs, processes and procedures to benefit Upstream Logistics safety performance
- Support / advise the Logistics site team on SH&E and emergency response initiatives, issues, challenges, and incident investigations / follow-up; provide feed-back and input to the L SH&E Team in regard to safety, health, environment and emergency preparedness
- Execute Upstream Logistics plans / programs as required by the Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS)
- Guide / Support contractors to establish and implement SH&E plans that meet expectations
- Provide guidance and construction safety expertise to Project and Site Safety / Environmental Advisors
- Deliver SH&E emergency response related training and refresher bulletins
- In coordination with the SH&E group, analyses all Logistic incidents for emerging trends and improvement opportunities
- Implement Incident Management Plan, conduct incident investigations and follow-up of incidents as needed
- Perform verification of safety planning for Shore Base, Marine, Aviation, Waste Management and Ground Transport related activities, including but not limited to: working at heights and scaffolding, LOTO, ergonomics/manual handling, A&D, hazardous environment exposures, PPE programs, housekeeping, barriers and barricades, lifting procedure, diving safety, and confined space entry / work permit systems
- Conduct systemic reviews of Logistics third party contractor plans and process to demonstrate compliance with OIMS processes and procedures
- Assess and advise Logistics third party contractor on general safety and environmental requirements, expectations and best practices
- Support risk assessments and studies as defined in the Annual Risk Plan associated with Logistics, and ensure results are addressed as relevant field work is executed
- Serve as risk screener for SH&E, and emergency response issues in the field and coordinate with SH&E
- Interface with regulatory agency field inspectors as approved with SH&E
- Provide initial in-the-field problem recognition / troubleshooting and oversee the implementation of corrective or emergency actions

Qualifications
- Ten years in positions related to Safety, Health and the Environment experience with other Major Operator in the Oil & Gas industry
- Knowledge of logistical operations, projects, production operations, facilities, and associated safety / environmental requirements
- Ability to develop successful working relationships with emphasis on interfacing and mentoring in a team environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact at all levels of the organization and influence without authority
- Proficient at computer skills, Microsoft Office applications, and database management (including IMPACTâ„¢ database and SharePoint)
- Knowledge of OIMS System, Process and Procedure requirements
